Accessibility advocate, consultant and YouTuber Jesse Anderson’s Illegally Sighted channel covers tech and games from the perspective of a low-vision user, with a wide variety of videos and playlists covering VR, mobile, and gaming accessibility. The above video is a Mixer stream he did from earlier this year exploring The Last of Us Part II’s extensive accessibility options and playing the game with its vision assist presets. It’s a great window into how these options impact gameplay in practice and how important they are for future games, especially if you’ve previously only read about these features.
The channel also includes a talk Anderson gave to the Twin Cities IGDA on blind and low-vision accessibility, and a talk on VR accessibility from ID24’s 2017 event—both worth a watch for a deeper dive into vision accessibility design.
