Come for the Xbox news, but make sure to stick around for the interviews. Luke Lohr’s excellent Xbox Expansion Pass podcast recently passed the one-year mark with consistent weekly episodes and no signs of slowing. Each week, Luke provides Xbox news and industry commentary from an Xbox fan perspective, and his enthusiasm and positivity for the gaming community is infectious. But where this podcast really shines are his interviews. He’s honed his craft well, the interviews in the show are always concise and enlightening, and the number of great interviews in his show’s catalog makes it worth going through the backlog of episodes and listening to his chats with game developers, journalists, and voice actors.
This week, he interviewed actress Shelby Young, whose credits include Dead Rising 3’s Annie, Battlefield 1’s Becca, and Wolfenstein Youngblood’s Jessie Blazkowicz, among others. They chat about Young’s switch from TV/film to voice acting, the difference between live-action and voice acting, landing Dead Rising, and her dream role. But before that Luke runs down the week’s Xbox news, discussing Gotham Knights’ combat redesign, the rumor that a deal with Duracell is why our controllers still use AA’s, and answering a few listener questions as well.
