A shared love of video games can connect people in unexpected ways. As podcast listeners, we often form bonds and friendships with the hosts of our favorite shows or videos even if we’ve never spoken or met. Few shows highlight this as well as Sean Capri’s We the GamerCast, which is billed as sweet hangs between strangers on the internet but can at times feel like a worthwhile session of gamer therapy. Each week Sean interviews members of his listener community—sometimes it’s other podcasters, sometimes listeners, sometimes friends. Sometimes Sean has spoken with his guests and other times not. And while the show is ostensibly about games and being gamers, it’s also about people’s personal stories and what’s happening in their lives at this moment in time.
It’s hard to recommend a single episode of the show so instead I’ll suggest you just pick any episode and jump right in even if you don’t know the guest. If you already have shows that cover news, current gaming topics, etc. this is a good addition just to mix up that regular rotation.
